Meet Nova
Nova is an Emmy-winning video editor living in Los Angeles, California.
In 2015, they got their first editing job for the Real Housewives of Atlanta after writing and editing a commercial parody for the season 7 reunion. Nova spent time in the docusoap space with Real Housewives of Potomac and Real Housewives of New Jersey, and MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings.
Nova went on to edit Netflix’s first reality show, Queer Eye, which became an instant cultural phenomenom. They stayed on the show for eight seasons, while the show won a total 11 Emmys. Nova was nominated for five Emmys during this time, winning two for Outstanding Picture Editing For A Structured Reality Or Competition Program. Nova was also nominated for an ACE EDDIE Award for Best Edited Non-Scripted Series.
They edited their first documentary project for VH1 , Corona Can’t Keep a Good Queen Down, a look at how RuPaul’s Drag Race was one of the first shows to start filming during the COVID pandemic, and the emotional journey of the cast and crew,
They continued to work with Netflix working on the docuseries’ Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness and Voices of Fire, and unscripted shows Say, I Do and Owning Manhattan.
On the first season of Living for the Dead (Hulu) Nova worked with Executive Producer Kristen Stewart to develop the voice of the show, and took on the role of finishing editor. Nova filled a similar role for the launch of OMG Fashun on E!
Nova most recently worked on the new semi-scripted comedy series for Roku, The Charlie Puth Show.
When they are not video editing, Nova makes music with their project Electric Nova and Yellowstar, draws, enjoys camping, and taking care of their cat Turbo.
